Part One - {Block One}...

*WOF - width of fabric (42"-44")

Cut the following:

(6) 1 3/4" x WOF light (muslin) strips 

(9) 1 3/4" x WOF dark (black) strips

Sew 3 Sets of DLDLD (dark, light, dark, etc.) as shown below.

Cut these strips into 6 3/4" squares. You should have 16 squares. 

Save the leftovers for {Block Two}
